The Best Hummus

My most favourite, go-to classic recipe for Hummus

I have made hummus more times than I have tied my shoelaces. Countless. The reason I choose to make my own is that buying hummus is because it cannot be beat. I am yet to find a packaged hummus that surpasses homemade. I love knowing that my hummus is made of only 6 ingredients (not including water) and I can adjust it perfectly according to my taste. Plus I like to make it in bulk and eat it with just about everything. Some people spoon peanut butter from the jar. I spoon hummus.

Hummus is the perfect kitchen staple, a great snack and a wonderful addition to so many meals.

This recipe below has become my favourite, my go-to hummus recipe. You may have noticed by the title that this hummus is completely oil free but stay with me, A perfect balance of chickpeas, garlic, cumin, salt, tahini, lemon juice and water, blended until smooth and topped with fresh coriander, more cumin, cracked pepper make it as flavoursome as you’ll ever want. Basically it means you can indulge without the ‘blergh’ feeling that you can sometimes get after eating something rich in oil. I did pop a few fresh olives sliced on top to get my olive fix but you could skip this if you’re not a fan of olives.

To make this hummus dip even more thrilling aka for a special occasion, try adding a few edible flowers, crushed pistachios and pomegranate seeds on top. garden It really will look like spring on a plate.
